Palo Santo, meaning ‘Holy Wood’ is highly sacred and revered by the native cultures of South America. Their calming and relaxing aroma is among one of the more fragrant woods - no surprise that it is favored by many people as their go-to incense. They are traditionally used for smudging rituals to cleanse energy, purify spaces, and calm the mind (similar with other sacred smudging herbs such as White Sage, Cedarwood & Sweet Grass), with a highly uplifting scent that raises your vibration in preparation for meditation.

These sticks are generally cut thinner compared to the Peruvian variety and have a "sweeter" aroma - with hints of cinnamon, vanilla & coconut (to the discerning nose), but for the rest of us, I would describe it as a 'lighter' and 'slightly sweet' like a lemon-y & woody mix.

All Palo Santo wood/sticks are collected from dead branches that have fallen to the ground in accordance with their natural life cycle and no live trees have been prematurely cut down during the harvesting process. These companies are also actively re-planting new trees to help towards the reforestation efforts to ensure that their overall operations are ecologically sustainable for the decades to come.
