Obsidian forms from molten lava that has cooled very quickly and hasn’t had time to turn into glass - think of it as a type of as volcanic glass.
Black Obsidians are extremely grounding and protective, a wonderful companion to shield you from negativity. Keep a piece with you, especially if you have been doing a lot healing work, as it really helps to anchor and ground you by moving all the excess energies back down to the earth.
